Tom McCann celebrated his selection for the third time as Lib Dem candidate for Slough by saying: "As a campaigner active in promoting healthcare I am delighted at the Lib Dem plans to massively increase funding for our precious health and social care services. The long-awaited Chilcot Report proves the Liberal Democrats were right to oppose Tony Blair's illegal war on Iraq. Commenting, current Liberal Democrat leader, Tim Farron, praised the judgement shown by Charles Kennedy in leading the Lib Dems to oppose the Iraq war and to unanimously vote against it.
