Today’s People’s Vote March and the long march
Today is the day for the People's Vote March in London demanding a vote on the Brexit deal, with an option to Remain. Slough Lib Dems will be there.
But for a campaigner from Swansea, Ed Sides, today is the final stage of his 200 miles walk from Swansea to London to highlight the People's Vote March. Slough Lib Dem Matthew Taylor, who is also Chair of Slough for Europe, joined Ed on the section from Slough station to West Drayton (see photo).
Matthew Taylor said: "People voted in the 2016 referendum based on a loose manifesto of how easy Brexit would be to achieve, how it would lead to growth and more money for our public services such as the NHS. Now that it is clear that what we are getting is nothing like what we were sold, it is time that the public is given a second say."
Commenting on Ed's walk, Matthew explained: "This event is a good reminder of the main event this Saturday - the People's Vote March."
