On Tues 1 Oct Aaron Chahal, Slough Lib Dem Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, told of joint meeting of Slough and Windsor Lib Dems why young people in particular are flocking to support the party:

"Our nation's future will be uncertain with either flip-flopping Jeremy Corbyn or untrustworthy Boris Johnson as our Prime Minister. However under Jo Swinson's leadership Liberal Democrats are determined to stop Brexit because we are stronger remaining as members of the European Union. This will be beneficial in so many ways ranging from concerted European action to tackle climate change, access to vital medicines, jobs to pay mortgages, and freedom to study and work across Europe. These could be threatened by a Labour or Conservative Brexit."

"Each day more people are joining and supporting the Liberal Democrats as they no longer believe in the Labour and Conservative parties. This is particularly true of young people who overwhelmingly want to stop Brexit and take firmer collective action to tackle climate change. As a 24 year old, I not only share these views but also believe the Lib Dem policies will be best for tackling the housing issues facing so many people in towns such as Slough."

"I am particularly optimistic about the national opinion polls showing a surge of support for the Liberal Democrats because Slough has one of the highest proportion of young people in the country. Soon it might not be beyond the realms of possibility that I will be challenging for victory in Slough."
