Lib Dems take lead in poll

The end of March saw a big jump in support for the Lib Dems across our area of the South outside of London. Slough Lib Dems welcome this latest YouGov poll showing growing support for the Lib Dems as the party demanding Labour must do better in tackling the Tory failures. The growing support for the Lib Dems also comes as it is seen as the party standing up to US President Donald Trump as he threatens Canada, Palestine, Ukraine and other countries across Europe.

Welcoming the poll, Slough Lib Dems chair and councillor for Cippenham Village, Frank O'Kelly, said: "Lib Dem policies  that support hard working families & vulnerable citizens are resonating with voters."

The Liberal Democrats have been clear: we need a real plan to fix our finances, support businesses, and boost economic growth.

That means scrapping the national insurance jobs tax, which is hammering small businesses and care providers - instead asking the big banks, social media giants, and online gambling companies to pay their fair share.

It means rebuilding our trading relationship with Europe to cut red tape for British businesses and drive growth.

And it means fixing our broken health and social care system - because cutting support for the most vulnerable won’t help them into work, in fact it could make things worse.

This Labour Government is making the wrong choices, and failing to show enough urgency in tackling some of the major problems left by outgoing Tory Government.
