Lib Dem by-election success & local campaigning to protect the NHS
Slough Lib Dems are celebrating the success of Jane Dodds in being elected MP for Brecon and Radnorshire and capturing the seat from Boris Johnson's Brexit Tories.
The photo shows Niccola Parkes, one of the Slough Lib Dems who went to help Jane Dodds in her successful Lib Dem campaign in the by-election.
Recently-elected Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson celebrated the victory and said the Lib Dems were "winning again" and she would "fight to keep our country in the EU". She told the BBC: "Boris Johnson's shrinking majority makes it clear that he has no mandate to crash us out of the EU."
Part of the Slough Lib Dem campaign against Brexit is to highlight the threat to the NHS from any post-Brexit trade deal between Donald Trump and Boris Johnson, or "Britain Trump" as Trump referred to Johnson in very poor English. See the letter in the Slough Express from local Lib Dem Jo Hanney that shows how damaging Brexit could be for our NHS: US private healthcare firms sizing up our NHS
