Education, education, education: Lib Dem policies best for Slough
"The Lib Dems' commitment to a much larger COVID recovery fund for schools than that proposed by the Tory Government will be very much welcomed in Slough, where all local services are facing years of cuts because of the failures of the Labour-run Council" said education researcher and Lib Dem candidate for Haymill and Lynch Hill, Catharine Parkes.
Catharine has held various posts in education in the civil service and a research organisation, in addition to a voluntary role as a Governor in two local schools. She explained "I have a passionate belief in the importance of educational opportunity for all children. Therefore, I'm angry that the financial failings of Slough's Labour-run Council will add to the existing pressures on school budgets from the Tory Government."
Catharine added: "Every vote for the Lib Dems this May is telling theTory Government that they must increase funding for education."
