Voters from Commonwealth Countries within the European Union

Citizens of Malta GC and Cyprus who are living in the United Kingdom can vote in all elections.

Malta GC and Cyprus are Commonwealth Countries which are also members of the European Union.

Citizens of these countries who are living in the United Kingdom are eligible to vote in all UK elections, by virtue of their Commonwealth Citizenship, provided they have the right to reside here.

Citizens of European Union countries have the right of residency in the United Kingdom, consequently citizens of these countries automatically fulfil residency requirement allowing Commonwealth Citizens to vote in all elections.

As a result of plans for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union, these voting rights may be subject to change, due to possible changes in the residency rights of Citizens of Cyprus and Malta to live, work and remain in the United Kingdom. We have no information about this at the present time.
