Speaking after the result Allison Harrison, the new AVDC councillor for Oakfield said, "I'm delighted that we have decisively held both Oakfield seats for the Liberal Democrats, we fought a positive and clean campaign, spoke to many electors and we will now start work on finding solutions to the issues raised and good ideas put forward by you, the residents".

Mark Willis, the new Liberal Democrat Town Councillor, said "I'm delighted to be back on Aylesbury Town Council, I'm looking forward to getting on with the job of helping and listening to residents. This was an election that no one wanted to have, because it was caused by the sad loss of a friend to our whole community. However I'm pleased that the Lib Dems have retained these seats held by our departed friend Steve Patrick, and can now carry on the work he did for our area over so many years".
