Commenting ahead of Monday's extraordinary meeting of the European Council on the Georgian crisis, Liberal Democrat Leader, Nick Clegg - an EU-Russia negotiator in the mid-1990s - said: "For far too long, Vladimir Putin has succeeded in appealing to the vanity of European leaders."
